All About The Author
Hi everyone,
Welcome to my site.
Let me tell you a bit about myself:

I was born in Canterbury, England in 1958, son of an Exports Manager at an Animal Feeds company. I grew up on a fairly rough Council Estate, but my Dad worked hard to buy a house and get me and my two brothers away from this environment, so at 10 years old I was living in a much nicer part of town.
I went to a Secondary Modern school, which I enjoyed, but despite my best efforts only emerged with a few reasonable exam results; English Language, English Literature and History. But it was enough to get me a Junior clerk role in Customs and Excise.

I worked hard and got some promotions and in the 1980's I became a uniformed Customs Officer, a role I simply loved! How many other jobs can you think of where you get paid for people watching?!

In the 90's I became a trainer, both in the UK and abroad and from 2000 onwards I took on a role investigating Organised Crime Gangs and had the privilege to work with UK Intelligence and Security services. Combined with my training skills this led to a number of overseas assignments and many experiences and challenges around the world, experiences that have proved useful in crafting my novels.

I had no plans to be a writer - it just kind of happened. I have had a long career in law enforcement roles and felt it might prove useful to record some of it so decided to write a memoir of my years in uniform, my 'golden years' perhaps.

But I couldn't stop there - could this be the basis of a fictional story?

A novel that revolved around this period of
my life in uniform might be the place to start. If you read this book you will get some
insights into what it is like to be a Customs Officer, but the story is much much more...

and there is a bonus...

The novel is now published, but I have been working hard on a sequel, due out in Spring 2025. Keep an eye on the updates page for more information or contact me if you have any questions.
